This notice explains how the current US Top 8 website handles information when you read our rankings, search the site, or use its interactive features. It applies to ustop8.com and www.ustop8.com. Services linked from our articles have their own privacy practices.
Website delivery and security
US Top 8 uses Cloudflare to host, deliver, and protect the website. Visiting a page sends technical request information to the hosting service, including your IP address, the requested URL, request time, and browser headers. Cloudflare may process traffic and security information to provide its services, diagnose problems, and protect its network. Its handling of this information is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Search and interactive features
Search terms submitted through the site search appear in the search-page URL and are processed to show matching public articles and pages. Because the search term forms part of a page request, it may also appear in hosting request information. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information into site searches.
Shortlist selections are processed in your browser. The current site has no connected newsletter signup or company-submission service. Its interactive controls do not create an email subscription or send a product-review request. Reading the website does not require an account, and US Top 8 does not currently accept payments or comment submissions on the site.
Browser storage and analytics
The notice-dismissal preference is saved in your browser's local storage under the key ustop8-cookie-notice, so the notice can remain closed on later visits. This preference stays in that browser until you clear the site's stored data. You can remove it through your browser's privacy or site-data settings; the notice may then appear again.
The current website code does not include an advertising pixel or a third-party analytics script. Browser storage for the notice is separate from any technical processing performed by the hosting service.
External websites
Product links and sharing links may take you to websites operated by other organizations. Those websites can receive information from your browser when you visit them and may use their own cookies, accounts, analytics, or payment services. Review the destination's privacy notice before providing information there.
Retention and your choices
The notice preference remains in local storage until you remove it. Shortlist selections are held in the current page rather than saved to a US Top 8 account. Hosting and security data are handled according to the provider's service settings and policies; this website does not state a fixed retention period for those records. You can clear browser storage and choose whether to follow external links.

Public article API request limits
The hosting platform uses a one-way hash of the connecting network address to group public article API requests for an approximate short-term request limit. Shared networks can share an allowance. This limit does not require accounts or marketing subscriptions.
